Daniel Webster Council Contingent Trip • July 13 - July 26, 2013

Daniel Webster Council is currently organizing a contingent trip to the 2013 National Jamboree at the new Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia. This trip is open to Boy Scouts, Venturers, and a limited number of adult volunteers and will be the best way for Scouts and Scouters from Daniel Webster Council to participate in the entire Jamboree and see the BSA's newest high adventure base.

The contingent trip will provide transportation to and from the Summit Bechtel Reserve and include sight-seeing with overnight stays on the way to and from West Virginia. All Jamboree fees, transportation costs, and expenses for food and lodging will be included in a single fee, payable to Daniel Webster Council in installments.

The projected fee is $1,800 per person.

This is an estimate based on anticipated travel expenses. Every effort will be made not to exceed this cost, but Daniel Webster Council must reserve the right to adjust the fee based on actual expenses.

Registration is now available!

Registration for participation is online through the BSA's Jamboree website. No payment is required at time of registration. Applicant's will be contacted by Daniel Webster Council after completing the online application. SPACE IS LIMITED, so please register ASAP!

Adult volunteers for the limited number of Jamboree troop and crew leader positions must apply through the same process, and participation will be contingent on qualifications, available space, and approval by the Daniel Webster Council National Jamboree Committee.

What's next?

YOUTH PARTICIPANTS: 

After you have completed online registration through the national system, the next step is to complete the REQUEST TO ATTEND form. You will need your "Jamboree Reference Number" to complete this form, which can be retrieved from the dashboard on your Summit Account Page (the username and password you used to register for the Jamboree). You will also need to get a signature from your Scoutmaster or Venturing Advisor to complete the form.

Once the Request to Attend form is complete, mail it to Daniel Webster Council with a non-refundable deposit of $100. This deposit will be applied towards your total fee, currently estimated to be $1,800 as explained above.

 To cover the fees that Daniel Webster Council must advance to the Summit for your participation and payments to reserve transportation and lodging, the following payment schedule has been established. You can make as many payments as you like in amounts of your choosing, but you should plan on accumulating the minimum balance paid by each of the dates below:

By July 1, 2012:             additional $500 payment     total balance:    $600

By November 1, 2012:   additional $500 payment     total balance:    $1,100

By February 1, 2013:     additional $500 payment     total balance:    $1,600

By April 1, 2012:            additional $200 payment     total balance:     $1,800

ADULT LEADER APPLICANTS:

After you have completed the online application, you will be contacted by a member of the Daniel Webster Council National Jamboree Contingent Committee. While leader spaces are available, applicants will be invited to interview with the committee for a position. Please note that spaces are limited and that you should act soon to improve your chances of being accepted.

Applicants who apply in time to be invited for an interview and are accepted as leaders will be asked to submit a Request to Attend form with a $100 deposit to hold their space. Accepted leaders who will be age 26+ at the time of the Jamboree pay the same fee as youth participants and are asked to follow the payment schedule posted above.
