| Day Camps Around the State Cub Scout Day Camps are open to boys entering grades 1 through 5 in September* and are offered at six different locations around the state. This program, which runs Monday through Friday, offers a fun-filled week of challenging Cub Scout activities, exciting adventures and new friendships. Opening ceremonies start the day at 9:00 AM and camp closes at 4:00 PM. Activities during the week include water activities, archery and BB shooting, sports, and crafts. Special events are also held throughout the week. *TIGER CUB PROGRAM Boys entering grade 1 in September 2013 may attend Day Camp as Tiger Cubs. Each Tiger Cub must be registered in the Boy Scouts of America and attend Day Camp with an adult partner. The Tiger Cub adult partner does not need to pay an additional fee. Signing up for Day Camp Registration for Day Camps Around the State can be done either by individual families or by a "camp coordinator" from the pack. Check with your pack leadership to see if your son's pack is plannng to attend a week of day camp. If so, the pack may register your son for you as part of a group and collect the payment from you. If the pack is not planning to attend, or your son can't go the week they have chosen, you may register him yourself and pay Daniel Webster Council directly. Pack Registration Packs are encouraged to select one individual to complete registration when several boys from the same pack plan to attend the same session of Day Camp. Please note: Day Camps need volunteer adults to supervise Scouts while traveling between program areas. This is especially critical when a pack sends several boys the same week. We ask for one adult volunteer for the first three Scouts registered from your pack, and then another adult for each additional five boys. In other words, please strive to achieve the following ratio of adult volunteers to Scouts: 1-3 Scouts: 1 Adult Volunteer 4-8 Scouts: 2 Adult Volunteers 9-13 Scouts: 3 Adult Volunteers 14-18 Scouts: 4 Adult Volunteers 19-23 Scouts: 5 Adult Volunteers 24-28 Scouts: 6 Adult Volunteers 29-33 Scouts: 7 Adult Volunteers REMEMBER: Children of Adult Volunteers pay just $25 to attend camp for the whole week! See details on volunteering below. Information to gather before registering your pack: You will need to collect some information about each Scout and their parent/guardian before you can complete a registration for a group of Scouts from your pack. A list of this information is provided below. Please be aware that if you register a group of Scouts, you will need to make payments to Daniel Webster Council as a pack. Individual families will not be able to pay the Council directly. Instead they will need to pay the pack, and you will make payments through this registration system. Most packs do this using a pack checking account or debit card. When you click "register" below, you will first be prompted to "add a participant". After entering a Scout's name, you will need to click on the link next to the Scout's name to complete a form with information about that Scout. You will need to repeat this process for each Scout registered. Information to collect prior to registration: For Scouts: - Name - Mailing address - Phone # - Date of Birth - Grade in September 2013 - T-shirt size (in youth sizing) - Parent/guardian name(s) - Parent/guardian DAY TIME phone number(s) - Parent/guardian e-mail address For Scouts with a parent who plans to VOLUNTEER for the week, you will need to provide the following info for the parent volunteer when completing the form for their Scout: - Name - Mailing address (if different from the Scout) - Phone number (if different from the Scout) - Date of Birth - T-shirt size (adult unisex sizing) - Names and telephone numbers of TWO non-family REFERENCES - Youth Protection Training and Adult Leader Training Status (for parents registered as pack leaders) - Occupation - First Aid and CPR training status (not required) - Program skills / interests (BB guns, archery, aquatics, sports, crafts, Scout skills) - If they need to bring non-Scout children as Tag-a-Longs: Name, age, gender of each child nteering below. Volunteer for the week and get a great discount! To ensure a successful Day Camp program for our Cub Scouts, volunteers are needed to staff program areas and guide the Cubs through each day's activities. Adults interested in volunteering as program staff or camp den leaders must complete the volunteer application questions that are part of the registration process. Your son (one son) will receive a $100 discount off his Day Camp registration if you volunteer for the entire session. You must be selected to serve as a volunteer (you will be notified) and attend one of the two available day camp training sessions held on Sunday, May 5th, 2013 (2-6pm) and Saturday, June 8th, 2013 (9am-1pm) at Camp Carpenter (unless you attended a day camp training session last year). You will also be required to attend an orientation conducted by the Day Camp director of your session. Volunteer staff will be expected to assist with Day Camp set-up and take down. Please note that adults that volunteer as den leaders may not be in the same den (group) as their child. If you have multiple Cub Scout sons attending the same Day Camp session, you may only take the discount for one child. A special "Tag-A-Long" area is available, at no charge, for staff volunteers who need to bring their son’s non-Cub Scout siblings to camp. The area is staffed by a responsible adult and staff who have planned activities for the children. Tag-A-Longs must be at least two years old and potty-trained. 2013 Schedule: -
